When it comes to the foods you shouldn’t be eating, it would be simple for me to point to the obvious. Bacon, for example, regardless of its deliciousness … well, on EVERYTHING, will eventually double your risk of stroke if you eat a lot of it every day. Donuts, French fries, and chicken wings not only threaten your waistline; the deep-frying process actually leaves food infused with toxic chemicals that put you…

MEDICAL CORNER …. This is more common than I thought. Please, take a look … you may find an answer, like I did.
~~February 28, 2015~~
I never had any children of my own. However, at this time in my life, I have been part of the care giving of four grandchildren. And I have learned a lot …. this is one of the issues we seem to be dealing with at this time.
I’ve been researching and find it very surprising that, in spite of being in the medical field, I wasn’t aware of this disorder. I’ve never found myself in this type of situation.
As I search for information, it seems to be that there are many families out there who could be dealing with this disorder.

MEDICAL CORNER …. Benefits of having your own vegetable/fruits/herbs garden!!
~~February 12, 2015~~
Why Grow Food?
Growing your own food at home makes sense.
The benefits include the following
Your organic, home-grown fruit, vegetables and herbs are fresher, more nutritious and more delicious than conventionally farmed fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Most fruit and vegetables lose nutritional value when they are stored for lengthy periods, or when they are being transported from interstate or overseas. Chemical preservatives are also applied, which do nothing for your health.
The fruit and vegetables in supermarkets have been bred for appearance, a long shelf life and resistance to bruising during transport. The fruit and vegetables best to grow in your own back yard, on the other hand, have been bred for being nutritious and delicious.
You don’t have to worry about the prices of vegetables, herbs and fruits continuing to rise. The best way to ensure food security for you, your family and your neighbors…

MEDICAL CORNER …. Sea Salt vs Table Salt!!
MEDICAL CORNER … Sea salt vs. tablet salt! Moderation is key!!
~~February 2, 2015~~
What’s the difference between sea salt and table salt?
The most notable differences between sea salt and table salt are in their taste, texture and processing.
Sea salt is produced through evaporation of ocean water or water from saltwater lakes, usually with little processing. Depending on the water source, this leaves behind certain trace minerals and elements. The minerals add flavor and color to sea salt, which also comes in a variety of coarseness levels.
Table salt is typically mined from underground salt deposits. Table salt is more heavily processed to eliminate minerals and usually contains an additive to prevent clumping. Most table salt also has added iodine, an essential nutrient that helps maintain a healthy thyroid.
Sea salt and table salt have the same basic nutritional value, despite the fact that sea salt is often promoted as being healthier. Sea salt and table salt contain comparable…
